Special Education and Inclusivity Committee & SEPAC

At Jefferson Elementary, we believe in fostering an inclusive community where every student can thrive.

Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)
The SEPAC is a parent-led council run through the Redondo Beach Unified School District (RBUSD). Its purpose is to collaborate with families, educators, and administrators to support students receiving special education services district-wide. To learn more about SEPAC and how you can get involved, please visit the SEPAC Linktree link below:

Jefferson Elementary PTA Special Education Committee
Our PTA Special Education Committee is dedicated to creating meaningful events and initiatives that support neurodiverse students at Jefferson and throughout the community. By fostering understanding, connection, and celebration, this committee helps ensure that every child feels valued and included. We welcome families of students with IEPs, 504s, students receiving services outside of school, and also neurotypical students who want to support their peers and promote inclusion!

Next Meeting: January 7th, 9:30am, at Mychal's Cafe

Join our What’s App group to share resources and support with other Jefferson families. Text 310-984-4135 to join.

Jefferson has launched a new Friendship Club at our school in partnership with the Friendship Foundation, the local nonprofit that hosts the annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. Our Friendship Club is a once-a-month lunchtime club using games and activities to help students learn friendship building skills. If you have a student with special needs and/or social challenges who would benefit from extra practice with their peers, or if you have a student who wants to help their peers work on friendship skills, please invite them to check out our club. The club meets the 2nd Thursday of every month. We are requesting that each club member submit an application, but students can complete it after their first visit if preferred. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help facilitate the club. Contact specialed@jeffersonptarb.org for more information.
