The Battle of the Books program is open District-wide to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Students will meet once a month, at school, during lunch, September through March, to discuss the different books on the reading list and prepare for the trivia battle. The 3rd grade students will read from a list of 18 titles, while the 4th and 5th grade students will read from a list of 28 titles. In the spring, balanced, randomized teams will be formed and students will compete in a 3-part trivia battle to test their book & author knowledge. Any student is welcome to participate in the meetings, but to participate in the school battle, 3rd graders must read 8 books and 4/5th graders must read a minimum of 15 books from the BoB list. Special recognition will be given to those who have read all the books! Meetings are students and volunteers** only.
