Jefferson Elementary PTA Mission Statement

We are committed to providing an environment where each child is given the opportunity to reach his or her academic potential by providing enrichment programs in the areas of art, music, science, and health.

Through the PTA, teachers and students are provided with additional resources to support and enhance the school curriculum. The following enrichment programs are entirely funded by the PTA:

• Art – Hands On Art education taught to all students throughout the year.

• Assemblies – Various speakers and performers are brought to the school.

• Reflections – A national PTA arts recognition program. All students are invited to participate.

• Field Trips – Students have the opportunity to attend 1-2 field trips during the school year. PTA pays for buses and entry fees.

In addition, the PTA provides teacher grants to reimburse our teachers for out-of-pocket classroom expenses and curriculum based teaching materials, as well as one large grant for a project proposed by Jefferson Elementary School teachers. We also sponsor family social activities, such as Back to School Ice Cream Social, Fall Family Night, Spring Family Event, Mother/Son Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, Parents Night Out, and Moms’ Night Out. There are many events scheduled throughout the year.
